Here are main problems with this game: - The mechanics of this game has been massively simplified, and is a real offense to the IQ of every Anno series fan. I was expecting a game similar to Anno 1404 or rather 2070 with expanded features. So the key is that to avoid your coffers being emptied you need the beggars to arrive as quickly as possible, and they arrive quickly if your city is big, so build hugely with peasants first then expand quickly. Unfortunatelly, Anno 2205 is a big disappointment. I didn't need the spices at all since I never reached Patrician, and I probably could have not bothered with the nomads and just built up to about 3000 or so peasants and got the same result. Set the system date to any of the following to get 10 gems, an Achievement, and the corresponding title. BonanzaCreek (will also give you title of 'Cheater') Gotham. (The countdown was at about 5 secs when I took the screenprint, the count doesn't show up). Rename your ship to one of the following names to get 10 gems and an Achievement. I was actually amazed that the beggars were arriving so quickly, I hadn't even fully upgraded to citizens when I'd got over 1000, let alone needed to go to patrician my balance was still way positive (and still over 160K in the bank) so I just had to set all the tax sliders to green and the job was done! Then I built the cider farms, expanded to 240 citizens and got stone and tools going, then upgraded houses as fast as my wood and tool supply would allow. I then put the game on 'fast' and waited for a while, doing quests as they popped up to keep the interest going, and planned out things like my cider farms (but didn't build them).Īfter a while, once my balance was 100K+, I built up a spice production line and got a trade route going so I was ready for when I needed to move to patrician, and also made sure I'd got all my warehouses fully stocked with wood and tools - basically, I got ready for a rush expansion. So I just built the biggest peasant city I sensibly could - 2,500 peasants and another 800 nomads! I only gave them fish and dates, buying in the tools I needed, and got my tax income to well over +1000. The scenario gives you a couple of clues in the description, mentioning that the beggars would start arriving once you'd got citizens, and that they would quickly deplete your money.

Having read some of the comments on here, I was concerned about the problem of running out of money, so I had a good think about how to handle this before I started.
